Protect your Identity

Do not give out financial or personal information unless you know for certain who you are talking to.
              
Report lost or stolen checks immediately.
                
Notify the bank of suspicious phone or email inquiries
                 
Closely guard your ATM and Debit cards.
                 
Shred any financial solicitations and sensitive materials.

Put outgoing mail into a secure, official postal service collection box.

If a regular bill fails to reach you call the company and find out why.

If your bill include questionable items, don't ignore them.

Periodically check your credit report.

Don't leave sensitive documents out in the open.

Sign the back of your debit and credit cards.

Don't carry your Social Security cards with you.

Steps to take if you think your
 
identity has been stolen:

Place a fraud alert on your credit reports

Close the accounts you think could be affected

File a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission (FTC)

File a report with the local police department
